Need to talk privately with Cilan? Send him a message via the crystal or carrier pigeon? Want to meet with him without posting a log for it? Here's the place to do it!
Ah, I see. [Well...] I do agree though that, while snacks are quite tasty, they should be eaten in moderation. Too much junk food can be extremely unhealthy, after all.
[... Except he then picks up a bag of dried fruit chips as if considering getting a bag for himself, holding it up with a smile.]
However, I think that you should be fine with these chips here, as long as you don't eat the entire bag in one sitting.
Is it really that surprising? [Like really, it should have been obvious...] As both a chef and trainer, we have to be knowledgeable when it comes to nutrition and how to maintain a proper diet, especially when we're the ones responsible for preparing meals.
[...Says the guy who appears to have the ingredients necessary for making sweets of his own in his basket right now.]
[...Except, now there's a slightly awkward chill hanging in the air, as it now occurs to Cilan that this is the longest conversation he's had with Hizumi since... uh.]
So, how have you been since the last time we spoke?
[Some good things have probably happened since Thras's challenge... right?]
Pretty well, actually! [We don't talk about the Night of Selenium.] There's not too much to report, but that's probably for the better in a place like this.
Yes, I believe so. [We don't talk about the Night of Selenium.] I suppose that the lack of things to report might be considered a little stale for some, but honestly, this relaxation time has had a nice taste to it so far. As a result, things have been going well for me and my Pokemon, thanks to having enough time and energy to get some work and training done.
[IE, no major disasters being unleashed and wrecking the town to take attention away from such things. Aside from whatever the fuck that thing was with Pride or whoever they were...]
[Yeah seriously what was up with that? Not something Hizumi particularly cares about is what.]
What was the sayin'... "No news is good news?" Or maybe we're both borin'.
[More like blatantly avoiding certain topics but whatever.]
Trainin', though? Like what?
[His mental image zooms immediately to sitting under a waterfall. Cilan, were you keeping this a secret, are you actually some buff guy who just looks slim in clothes!!!]
[With a salute and a sparkle (not really, he can't produce those unlike certain other individuals, but figuratively) he's off to pay for his purchases. He'll go ahead and wait for Cilan to finish up with his own stuff outside.]
[Once Cilan has gotten his own groceries taken care of too, he'll step outside and gesture for Hizumi to follow him to an open spot that should give some appropriate distance from any townspeople walking by. Somehow, he manages to shift his stuff to one arm as he uses his other hand to fish out three poke'balls.]
Alright... everyone, it's showtime~!
[He tosses those three pokeballs into the air, and they burst open with a flash of light. When the light fades, now there's thesethreePokemon standing before Hizumi, which Cilan introduces each in turn.]
Pansage, Crustle, and Stunfisk... this is Hizumi. Hizumi, these three are my Pokemon.
[Pansage and Crustle smile at Hizumi, the former even offering a wave... Stunfisk mostly just sort of blinks in response to Hizumi's presence.]
Yes, that's right. Humans and Pokemon have been living in close proximity to one another for a very long time... in fact, I don't think there's any place in our world where you wouldn't be able to find a Pokemon living there.
Because of that, you'll find that most people that come from my world are Pokemon trainers, or at least have a Pokemon companion of some kind accompanying them.
[When Hizumi crouches down a little closer to Pansage, the Pokemon blinks a little in surprise, before it then smiles and holds out a paw to him, as if offering a handshake. Nice to meet you, Hizumi.]
[He has to wonder if the people in Cilan's world are simply highly effective at training other species. He will go ahead and shake the pokémon's paw, however.]
Nice to meetcha! Do you usually give 'em nicknames, or do you just call 'em by their species, or...?
There are plenty of Pokemon that still live in the wild, but yes, there are just as many that have chosen to live in the company of people...
[So yeah, everywhere and anywhere.]
Some people will certainly give them nicknames upon befriending them, while others call them by their species name. I'll admit that I'm the latter, in this particular case.
[Not that he doesn't think his Pokemon aren't deserving of nicknames, just... they've been together for so long that calling them by a different name now would be a little strange.]

However, I think that you should be fine with these chips here, as long as you don't eat the entire bag in one sitting.
no subject
Just for you, he's going to eat that whole bag in one sitting.]
You're real into healthy stuff too, huh...
no subject
[...Says the guy who appears to have the ingredients necessary for making sweets of his own in his basket right now.]
no subject
[Considering Ayumu's insistence on nutritional balance as well. Although...
He leans forward, gaze on the contents of Cilan's basket.]
Though... looks like you're gettin' ready to make some treats, too.
no subject
[There's a slight pause, before Cilan seems to realize why Hizumi said anything about the contents of his basket--]
...Which, still fits into what I said before: sweets are fine, as long as you eat them in moderation!
[He's totally not being a hypocrite here, we swear!]
no subject
[The smile on his face is an attempt at innocent.]
You plannin' to share 'em with people or somethin'?
no subject
[So wipe that look off your face, he's totally not gonna just eat a bunch of sweets on his own, that would just be ridiculous... >_>;;]
If you'd like, I wouldn't mind letting you take a few for yourself too once I've finished preparing them?
[A few because... moderation or something.]
no subject
what the heck, why not get more free sweets?]
As long as you're offerin', sure! I'll take some off your hands!
[Suddenly, Cilan is no longer under any especial scrutiny. Seems the best way to get Hizumi to stop judging you is to buy him off with food.]
no subject
[...Except, now there's a slightly awkward chill hanging in the air, as it now occurs to Cilan that this is the longest conversation he's had with Hizumi since... uh.]

What about you? Still hangin' in there?

Oh, the usual: making sure that we stay in physical shape, practicing with old techniques and trying new ones...
...Come to think of it, have I ever introduced you to them? My Pokemon, I mean.
[Because honestly Pokemon training might not make sense unless Hizumi's already met them or has seen what Pokemon are capable of here...]
no subject
[He's met Trip's, at least.]
no subject
Give him a second here to try to figure out what Hizumi's talking about, until...]
Oh, wait, I take it that you met Trip's Pokemon? [Or at least Vanillite, right?]
no subject
[When the kid was around.]
I don't really get it, 'sides there bein' critters like that defyin' all logic.
[Be grateful he isn't curious enough to get to dissecting. Good thing his focus is on human genetics...]
no subject
[And maybe that way Hizumi will understand a little better why Cilan made such a big deal about what happened during the Thras challenge...]
no subject
Sure, why not? My world doesn't have anythin' like 'em-- it'd be neat to see more.
[Still doesn't see what the big deal is about an illusory monster dying, though.]
no subject
[Because... well, grocery store is not best setting to introduce animal monsters... maybe once they're outside somewhere first. ^^;;]
no subject

Hmmmmmmm...
Yeah, they're still pretty weird looking. He crouches down a bit to get a look at Pansage in particular.]
...They resemble animals from my world, but... They're a lot more exaggerated, I'd say. [Yeah, that's a word for it.]
So these guys are just everywhere where you're from?
no subject
Because of that, you'll find that most people that come from my world are Pokemon trainers, or at least have a Pokemon companion of some kind accompanying them.
