Why not? Trouble is the spice of life, I always say. You're doing something wrong if you don't have a bit of trouble brewing.

[For some reason, that actually makes him smile--it's much more relaxed and genuine rather than the awkward smiling that seemed to be of the "hello please don't mug us today" variety like before.]

Perhaps, but too much trouble can add more bitterness than spice to a person's life as well.

[In fact there's a lot more to this Cilan likely would have normally added (such as how "if you're careless, it could ripen further until it becomes an unappealing taste of regret"), but he keeps it short for now.] I prefer things to be nice and sweet, if possible.

[ She smirks, waggling an eyebrow at him. ]

So if I were gonna take some money from you, I should just get it over with, right?

[Yes...wait no, about that--]

Perhaps, but I would prefer if you didn't try to take money from us, if you don't mind? [At least not taking it with force, anyway.]

[precipitous]

But what if I do mind? [ Sorry, Cilan, she's having way too much fun with this. ]

...Then I suppose I'd be in hot water here. [Sigh--] Is there any way that I can convince you to look the other way today?

[Other than just handing over all of our money, he means.]

[ She smirks. ] I'm open to suggestions.

I take it that just asking nicely wouldn't really be satisfying for you, would it?

[...Not that he expected it to be that easy. What would Korra actually accept as a substitute though...]

Nope, not really. i'm still listening, though.

[cilantro]

[Other than his wallet, he's got...a watch and cufflinks (nice and probably worth something if sold or pawned, but not quite as expensive as the ones the more higher-up aristocrats wear) and a bag (mostly books inside, but at least the bag itself looks nice). Cilan doesn't really want to have to give up any of those things either, though...maybe he could try to find out if there's something else that he could give or just buy for her instead.]

Well, what kind of things do you like? [What would Korra use our money to buy anyway?]

[precipitous]

Food. [ Yup. That's her honest answer. ] Or if you happen to have any sweet motorcycle parts on you, I'll be happy to take them off your hands.

[cilantro]

[Oh!] I'm sad to say that I don't have any motorcycle parts with me, but if it's food you want, then I'm sure I could oblige. [Sure, he didn't plan on having to either make or pay for someone's meal today, but that's better than having his wallet or valuables stolen.] What kind of food do you like?

[precipitous]

Take one look at me. What sort of food do you think I like?

[ That was a lot more fun than just answering. ]

[cilantro]

Ah, well... [He seems to be actually thinking about it for a few seconds (maybe giving it too much thought) before he replies.] I could see you as someone that would enjoy some of the variety that come with Asian cuisine in particular, perhaps. After all, they have a wide array of flavors to choose from regarding how someone prefers their noodles or meat to be served, whether you like it simple, sweet and sour, or particularly spicy. [A slight pause, before he adds, with a slight sigh--] Either that, or you're not a particularly picky person and would be satisfied with anything, provided I was the one taking care of the expenses...

[Okay that last part might have been unnecessary to say but on a scale of 1-10, how close was he on that first part in guessing her tastes?]

[precipitous]

[ Well, well, not too shabby. ]

I do like Asian food...but the second is true, too. I'm not very picky, as long as I'm in the right mood.

[cilantro]

Mm, I see. [Well, he certainly feels a little proud of himself for having a good guess on her tastes, even if he is going to end up paying for this.]

What are you in the mood for today then, Miss?

[precipitous]

Noodles. The best noodles you can find me.

[cilantro]

In that case... [Luckily for Korra, Cilan actually doesn't consider what would be the "cheapest" noodles for him to have to pay for--after all, she wants to know where some of the "best" noodles are, so he answers honestly, pointing in the indicated direction.] Perhaps you would like the noodles they serve at a restaurant just up the road from here.

[Would you like for us to lead the way?]

[precipitous]

Great. [ And then she looks at him expectantly. ] Let's be on our way, then?

[cilantro]

Of course! [On our way we go! There haven't been any cops walking by along this path yet, something that Cilan has sort of noticed to some slight disappointment--her last mugging attempt likely hadn't gone as smoothly due to an ill-timed cop strolling by or what not, but as of now, there hasn't been one yet. He could ditch her, but...well, not only is that rude, but he has the feeling it would have made their next meeting worse. Not exactly eager to be on a gang member's list of people they don't like, so leading her to the indicated restaurant he does. He'll even hold the door open for her when they arrive.] After you?

[precipitous]

[ She grins at him devilishly as she strolls through the restaurant door. This was turning out pretty good. Maybe she can get take out to take home for her family. ]

You sure know how to treat a lady, don't you?

[cilantro]

[And there went our chance to bolt the second she had stepped inside and took her attention off of us--I mean uh]

Of course! I'd like to think of myself as a gentleman, after all. [Now to quietly pray that Korra doesn't try to buy the most expensive things she sees once she gets her hands on the menus here...]

[precipitous]

[ She won't be that mean to his pockets.

Maybe. ]

Then lead the way, gent. [ She'll let him pick a table. ]

[cilantro]

Mm, alright. [Cilan ends up choosing a nice table that gives some privacy away from any other busy tables nearby as he takes a quick look at a provided menu. There's a very nice variety of noodles and things served here, many of which he would recommend as being good, though he's mainly keeping an eye on prices at first when he indicates Korra's menu.]

Is there anything that looks the most appealing to you?

[precipitous]

[ Oh, privacy. This is almost seeming like a date, but Korra doesn't plan to tease him about that too much. Yet, anyway.

She'll wait until she's ordered her food for that! ]

The chow mein looks pretty good...but so does the chicken and rice platter. What are you getting?
