[ True enough. Cilan's broken most expectations already just by having a Crustle and a Stunfisk. Gym leaders are tougher than the average trainer but they also tend to specialize in a particular type, and knowing that makes things a little easier; but not today. Today she'll just have to improvise and roll with the punches.

Samurott jerks when the electricity surges through its body and it winces. Thundershock isn't the strongest attack out there, but the type disadvantage against it makes it leave a mark. Samurott is still standing with a fierce look in its eyes, though it is breathing heavily. ]

Samurott, come back! [ She recalls her Pokémon like she did before and sends out Musharna. ]

Ah, it's the return of a familiar taste! [Hello Musharna, how lovely to see you again! But this time, after a couple of seconds or so, we'll try to make the first move rather than leaving an opening for too long.] Stunfisk, use Scald!

[From where Stunfisk is still situated in the water, it opens it's beak-like mouth and attempts to spray a blast of scalding hot water like it did before, now aiming for the floating Musharna above us.]

[ Musharna makes a high-pitched, screeching noise when the attack connects and shakes wildly to cool itself down but it doesn't work because it burns and it doesn't go away. That's when Synchronize kicks in. In a few seconds, Stunfisk will feel its very own burn begin to gnaw at its health. ]

Quick, use Psychic!

[ Musharna's calmed itself down by now so it will now blast a wave of energy toward Stunfisk. ]

Stunfisk, dive back down into the water! [Stunfisk does just that, sinking back down somewhere into the water as they are hoping the psychic waves will have less of an impact if it tries to avoid it underwater. While Stunfisk is able to withstand the psychic waves, just being underwater doesn't really make it completely immune to it of course, so once the psychic passes, it's quick to resurface, shaking itself back and forth momentarily as if attempting to rid itself of a headache--not to mention the burn it's gotta contend with now too as it winces a little in pain.]

Use Thundershock! [This time, instead of blasting Musharna with hot water, it charges up again before firing a charge of electricity at the floating Pokemon like it did before against Samurott.]
